Kynetec Adds Leader for Agricultural Business
Agriculture and animal health specialist Kynetec has recently appointed former Bayer data science leader Ines Kapphan as Chief Operating Officer, Agriculture.
Established in the UK in 2002, Kynetec provides comprehensive surveys of farmers, veterinarians, pet owners and agricultural experts, along with data sets, analytics and predictions. The firm was part of GfK for seven years until an MBO in 2016, and has since completed a string of its own acquisitions, most recently that of horticultural data specialist Freshlogic earlier in 2025.
Kapphan (pictured) brings more than ten years of experience in technology, data science and digital product development within the agricultural sector. She joins from the Crop Science division of chemicals giant Bayer, where she led the development of a Data and Cloud Solutions business which emerged from a strategic partnership with Microsoft in 2021. Earlier she held leadership roles in Product Management at The Climate Corporation, a Bayer subsidiary, and as Head of Product she led the global expansion of FieldView, Bayer's digital farming platform. Based in Zurich, Switzerland, Kapphan holds a PhD from ETH Zurich, with research conducted at Stanford University on the impacts of climate change on agricultural production systems; and Master's degrees in Economics from the University of Konstanz, Germany, and in Law & Public Policy from The Fletcher School, USA.
In her new role, she will lead the global Agriculture division, and joins Kynetec's Executive Committee.
