New London Hub for WPP
WPP has officially opened a third London 'campus' office, in a building formerly the headquarters of the Financial Times, One Southwark Bridge. With around 3,000 occupants, the office will provide a central hub for WPP Media and its brands Choreograph, EssenceMediacom and Wavemaker.
Wavemaker is the group's consumer data specialist, while EssenceMediacom is a data and audience planning agency. Choreograph was formed in 2021 from the specialist data units of GroupM and Wunderman Thompson.
The group says the new office will unite teams spearheading the development of its AI platform for marketing. The refurbished building, designed by the group's own BDG architecture + design, has just achieved a rare BREEAM Outstanding rating, reflecting its sustainable design: it features efficient air conditioning; 300 square metres of solar panels, optimally angled on the roof; an 'Intelligent facade' of perforated aluminium fins to reduce overheating; ethical sourcing of construction materials; a green roof, bird boxes; and innovative water management.
New group CEO Cindy Rose led the launch, and commented: 'Winning teams need a world-class facility to perform at their best, and this new London campus is exactly that. As a proud British company, this represents a significant and continued investment in our UK talent and infrastructure. It's an engine for collaboration, bringing our exceptional people together into a creative and innovation hub that delivers for our clients.'
