Konovo Buys Healthcare Recruiter Rare Patient Voice
In the US, healthcare intelligence company Konovo has announced the acquisition of Rare Patient Voice (RPV), which recruits patients with rare, chronic and complex conditions for participation in market and UX research, as well as clinical trials.
Based in Watertown, MA, USA, Konovo was formed in the spring of last year from the merger of the three healthcare research firms within Apollo Intelligence - InCrowd, SHG and GlocalMind. The group operates across thirteen countries in the Americas, Europe and Asia, and is a portfolio company of Frazier Healthcare Partners.
Konovo already has its own global panel of healthcare professionals and patients, with mobile-first quant and qual research capabilities, as well as AI-based capabilities to streamline and integrate the gathering and sharing of insights. The buy enhances this with the addition of RPV's access to and 'deep relationships' with more than 200,000 registered patients and family caregivers, across nine countries and some 1,500 diseases, and promises clients the ability to access hard-to-reach patient populations with speed and reliability. Traditional recruitment methods often fall short when looking for people with rare and complex conditions, according to Konovo, which says it will apply its platform infrastructure and global capabilities to extend RPV's reach 'while preserving the community-first approach that has made it successful.'
Chief Executive Tal Rosenberg (pictured) comments: 'At Konovo, we're focused on solving a core research challenge: accelerating high-quality insights from critical audiences and combining them into a holistic view at scale. Acquiring Rare Patient Voices strengthens our ability to deliver exactly that by bringing together authentic patient perspectives with physician insights to give researchers the complete understanding they need to make confident decisions faster.'
Wes Michael, founder and President of Rare Patient Voice, adds: 'The combination of RPV's community-centric approach and Konovo's platform scale creates new opportunities for researchers to engage patient and caregiver audiences more effectively.'
