Gemini AI Engineering Leader Joins Board of IAS
Media measurement and optimization platform Integral Ad Science (IAS) has appointed Kamelia Aryafar, Head of AI, Members at Netflix, to its Board of Directors. Aryafar has been Head of Engineering and AI for Gemini Enterprise, at Google, for most of the last six years.
IAS' platform provides detailed and enriched data helping to ensure that ads are 'seen by real people in safe and suitable environments', while improving return on spend for advertisers and yield for publishers. The company was acquired six months ago by Canada-based private equity firm Novacap, in an all-cash transaction valuing it at around $1.9 billion; and in January it brought in longstanding LinkedIn exec Melissa Furze as its new Head of Data Science.
Aryafar (pictured) brings in-depth experience building and scaling AI across platforms and companies. Prior to joining Netflix two months ago she led teams of more than 650 ML/AI engineers and scientists focused on building Gemini Enterprise, Google Agentspace and Vertex AI Search, as well as Recommendations and Foundational LLMs. Earlier she spent three years at eCommerce platform Overstock as EVP, Chief AI and Analytics Officer, and five years in ML / AI engineering at Etsy.
IAS Chief Exec Lisa Utzschneider says Aryafar is 'a forward-thinking leader with deep expertise in AI and across engineering,' adding: 'Her experience is incredibly valuable as IAS advances its AI strategy and continues to drive innovation, quality, and performance in a rapidly evolving media landscape.'
Aryafar joins other recent arrivals on the Board, Bob Lord and Krishan Bhatia
