Funds for NYC-based Enterprise Data Platform TextQL
TextQL, an AI-based data infrastructure and analytics business headquartered in New York City, has raised $17 million, with which to expand its operations and accelerate development. The firm's agents analyse data where it is, rather than requiring clients to migrate it.
The company aims to automate the work of data analysts, via an agent called Ana which allows non-technical users to query massive databases using natural language. Its purpose-built warehouse runs inside a customer's private environment, automatically mapping relationships across disparate datasets and creating a 'shared, business friendly knowledge layer.' The platform goes on to execute multi step analysis, generate visualizations, schedule reports, reconcile data, and 'perform transformations end to end', according to the blog of co-founder & CEO Ethan Ding (pictured), who worked at VC firm Contrary before starting to build TextQL in 2022.
The round was led by Blackstone Innovations Investments, with participation from HOF Capital, Neo, DCM Ventures, Allison Pickens, Unshackled Ventures, Dropbox and Varsha Rao, as well as a number of angel investors.
