Screen Engine Merges Agencies Coherency and Tapestry

Media, entertainment and gaming insights specialist Screen Engine/ASI is merging two of its research agencies, Coherency and Tapestry, under the latter's brand. The resulting firm will number just over 50 research professionals across the US and UK.

Ian WrightParent company Screen Engine/ASI is headquartered in Los Angeles and delivers a broad range of digital entertainment research products including concept testing, movie screenings, program and gaming assessment, across films, gaming and television, through online, central site, and in-field intercept methods. Tapestry, its subsidiary since 2021, is headquartered in London, and provides strategic research on brand growth, including deep audience understanding, advanced analytics and AI-powered research solutions.

The new firm will have locations in London, New York and LA and will combine Tapestry's expertise with Coherency's emotion-based research. Key pillars of the new offering will be Coherency's LoveQuotient measure of brand love, rooted in relationship science; and Tapestry's Daisy suite of proprietary AI-enabled survey tools.

Kevin ThompsonCoherency's co-founders Steve Markov and Jeff Meleski decided last year to retire from their business after more than ten years, while its third co-founder Lee Lodes will continue in a strategic lead role across select accounts at Tapestry. The combined agency, will be led by current Tapestry Co-Managing Directors Ian Wright and Kevin Thompson.

'Steve and Jeff built an exceptional agency in Coherency,' says Wright, 'with the ground-breaking LoveQuotient offering a completely new way for brands to measure and deepen their relationship with customers. We're excited to bring together the talent in both agencies to create new market-leading tools that combine deep emotional connection with advanced data science.'
