Video Analytics Firm KERV.ai Hires CPTO
In Austin, Texas, video analysis, performance and monetization company KERV.ai has announced the appointment of Joshua Koran as Chief Product and Technology Officer.
KERV uses patented pixel-edge recognition and correlation technology to capture metadata across every frame in any video, to identify, analyze and match objects with contextually relevant advertising experiences. This allows it to pinpoint when viewer attention peaks and intent signals emerge, at the 'scene and moment level', then match those moments to relevant brands, products and interactive commerce experiences. The result is 'immersive and shoppable' solutions allowing consumers to 'learn, explore, and transact' through dynamic video, boosting engagement and business outcomes. The company recently launched a new 'Moment Match Engine' and announced a partnership with US Hispanic media company Canela Media.
Koran is based in Silicon Valley and brings more than 30 years of global adtech experience across firms including InMarket, Criteo, Zeta Global, Sizmek, Turn, AT&T AdWorks, and ValueClick, and has been granted 26 patents related to digital marketing, audience intent intelligence, and content optimization technologies. One of the architects of the AdChoices and TCF consumer ad preference programs, he currently chairs the governance working group for AdCP, a decentralized agentic framework designed to help shift ad spend back toward media owners from today's dominant walled gardens.
In his new role, he will lead the development and execution of KERV's AI-powered products, accelerating the development of its contextual enrichment and creative solutions. He will also steer its investments in advanced media planning, analysis, and optimization agents to improve strategy recommendations and natural-language reporting across premium video environments.
'The rapid shift towards more intelligent, measurable ad experiences has redefined how audiences engage and connect to content,' states KERV CEO Gary Mittman. 'Joshua will help us unlock true commerce and advertising interactivity within and around the viewing experience at scale. As TVs increasingly adopt the same dynamic functionality that consumers expect from the web, Joshua's expertise across media, adtech, and data will help accelerate our ability to continue delivering the next generation of immersive, shoppable, and outcome-driven advertising experiences across any screen.'
