Funds for AI Engine Optimization Firm PetraLabs
In New York, answer engine optimization (AEO) platform PetraLabs has announced a $5.2 million seed round of funding, with which to further develop its software and expand its team.
Petra Labs was founded last year by CEO Sami Akkawi, CTO Rishi Penmetcha and COO Ramie Khoury, and combines a proprietary measurement platform with a team of AEO experts, to build custom 'last-mile' attribution models linking AI search to revenue. The firm says the last mile that needs adding to current AI optimization analysis is the different between measuring visibility in AI answers and measure the impact of that on revenue and new customer acquisition; and embeds its expert teams with clients to help them choose the right prompts to track, and to make sense of the 'millions of rows' of citation data they produce.
Akkawi (pictured) comments: 'We built Petra Labs to serve as an extension of our customers' teams and own AI Search business outcomes end-to-end. From day 1, it was clear to us that the only way to deliver on that promise was to truly understand how these AI search investments translate to revenue.'
The round was led by Work-Bench, with participation from Afore and Pathlight, as well as angel investors.
