NIQ Adds New C-Suite AI Role and Expands Smart Insights
Global consumer intelligence provider NIQ is expanding its AI-powered Smart Insights offering across the whole of its gfknewron platform, which brings market, consumer and supply chain data together in a single view. The firm has also appointed Irina Stoian in the new role of Chief AI Commercial Officer.
NIQ's global reach spans over 90 countries, c. 85% of the world's population and more than $7.2 trillion in global consumer spend. The company acquired Germany-based global research group GfK three years ago. gfknewron was launched more than five years ago as a predictive tool connecting relevant sales and consumer data across clients' global product portfolios via a customized interface, allowing them to react to changes in the market, plan and forecast.
The Smart Insights roll-out promises users a faster way to identify trends, opportunities and performance drivers, and make subsequent decisions, and the firm says it will make its advanced analytics more accessible to users across functions and experience levels.
Specifically, clients can now generate instant summaries of complex datasets; analyze up to four years of trended sales data to pull out key developments; access Smart Insights on mobile; translate data into clear narratives and recommendations; and seamlessly integrate these insights into presentations and reporting workflows.
Julian Baldwin, the company's President, Global Strategic Accounts, states: 'Our investment in AI is focused on helping clients unlock the full value of NIQ's trusted market intelligence. By combining the scale of our trusted data with AI-powered analysis, we're making it easier for brands and retailers to uncover opportunities faster, respond to changing market conditions and make better-informed decisions.'
The new role of Chief AI Commercial Officer is part of the company's drive to accelerate its enterprise AI commercial strategy and turn its AI capabilities into practical benefits for clients. Stoian will help shape NIQ's commercial AI offerings, strategic partnerships, pricing and business models, and integrate these capabilities more deeply into client workflows.
She joins following almost six years at Palantir Technologies, most recently as Commercial AI Lead; and before this worked at Barclays bank in analytics and commercialization-focused roles. CEO Jim Peck states: 'AI is not a feature we are adding to NIQ; it is core to our product strategy. Irina brings exactly the combination of commercial credibility and AI fluency we need to make that strategy land with clients.' Troy Treangen, Chief AI & Product Officer, adds: 'As AI continues to evolve rapidly, we created the CAICO role to better connect product strategy, commercialization, and client needs. Irina will help connect strategy, product, commercial execution, and client needs to translate AI innovation into market impact.'
