Former dunnhumby Exec Joins Kingfisher in New Data Role

DIY retail group Kingfisher, the owner of UK store brands B&Q, Screwfix and TradePoint, has appointed former dunnhumby executive Jez Collins as its first Head of Data Monetisation.

Jez CollinsKingfisher originally launched its retail media network in France three years ago, and followed up later the same year with UK roll-out in B&Q and Screwfix stores. The network is powered by ad tech firm CitrusAd and taps data from more than a billion shopping trips to help third-party brands with services including targeted on-site ads, personalised product recommendations and in-store displays.

Collins (pictured) joins from retail media platform Colateral, where he has been retail media director since December 2022. Prior to this he worked for eleven years at consumer data pioneer dunnhumby, in roles including Senior Client Director, UK Head of Commercial Innovation, UK Head of Brand Insight Sales and most recently Director of the Tesco retail media account.

In his new role he rejoins his former dunnhumby colleague Simon Jury, now Kingfisher's Chief Data Officer, and is responsible for turning the group's data trove into measurable financial value.

'We have a huge opportunity ahead to use data to create better customer experiences across Europe,' Collins said on LinkedIn, 'and I'm looking forward to getting stuck in and working with the brilliant team with the team here to help shape what comes next!'
