Acquisition for Welsh Success Story Delineate
UK-based research tech and consumer opinion tracking company Delineate has been acquired by Vertus Group.
Delineate's Proximity platform tracks campaigns and other key moments in brands' lifecycle in real time, delivering rapid insights across more than 100 markets and allowing marketers to measure and adjust brand health and campaign performance. The firm's global headquarters are in Llandysul, Wales, and it has offices in London, Atlanta, New York, and Mexico City.
New owner Vertus Group is a division of Jonas Software, itself within Constellation Software, one of the largest software groups with a policy of 'buying and keeping' companies in seven targeted industry verticals, helping to 'preserve the culture and legacies that have helped make these companies successful.'
Following the buy, Delineate will continue to operate independently with its current team and from its current HQ. The firms say the deal will give it 'the backing of a long-term, supportive home and access to a network of fellow software companies focused on sustainable growth and continuous improvement.'
Company founder James 'JT' Turner, who returned to the CEO role three years ago, says of the news: 'As part of Vertus, we'll be able to accelerate that vision by combining our expertise with their global scale and investment capability. Just as importantly, Vertus' commitment to cutting-edge AI and technology innovation will help us continue to develop industry-leading solutions for our clients while maintaining the agility and client focus that has always defined Delineate.'
Alan Threadgold, Group Leader at Vertus, comments: 'Delineate has built an outstanding reputation through its innovation, customer focus, and commitment to delivering high-quality insights through its Delineate Proximity. Their achievements and expertise make them a natural fit for our Group, and we look forward to supporting their continued growth and success as we embark on this exciting new chapter together.'
Vertus says the buy expands its portfolio into a new vertical, although it does list private clubs sector data and insights firm Metrics First, acquired in 2015, among its existing subsidiaries.
