$20 Million Boost for Different Kind of Digital Twins

San Mateo, CA and London-based business Twin1 AI has raised $20 million in seed funding for its platform, which creates an AI-powered digital twin for every professional, allowing their knowledge to be shared around an organisation on a permissioned basis.

Funds will help drive development, grow teams and expand sales operations. The round was co-led by Bessemer Venture Partners, Tribeca Venture Partners and Aramco Ventures.

Twin1 AI's digital twins are built to reflect an individual's knowledge, judgment, working context and communication style, and can communicate on their behalf via email, meetings, documents, Slack and Microsoft Teams. The twins evolve continuously, using the content of a person's digital communications, and can 'autonomously answer questions and act on their behalf'.

The firm, which notes major players among the legal, financial services and energy sectors as clients, says privacy, governance and human control are built into the platform. The 'Twin Network' is a coordination and trust layer formed by peer-to-peer governance, communication preferences and protocols, through which individual Twins can identify the right people, gather permission-aware knowledge and coordinate work across an organization, 'without overriding the control of the humans they represent.' The system also integrates MCP.
