iKO to Provide Satellite Channel Audience Analytics

iKO Media Group (iKOMG) has launched iKOANALYTICS, a new analytics offer promising broadcasters and distributors deeper insight into the performance and consumption of channels distributed via satellite. The service combines satellite monitoring and distribution data with audience analytics.

The new service is integrated within iKOSYSTEM, iKOMG's unified platform for managing its broadcast and media services - and therefore gives customers access to operational and viewership intelligence in one place. The firm says the launch addresses a long-standing challenge for the satellite broadcast industry, which until now has had to cope with far more limited data than digital and OTT distribution, despite being fundamental to reaching large audiences around the world. 'Once a channel is distributed, understanding how it is being received and consumed - including where audiences are watching, for how long and on which connected devices - has historically been difficult to determine.'

iKOANALYTICS provides satellite monitoring and distribution information; audience data including minutes watched, total accesses, device information; and geographic insights for supported connected television environments. It hopes the availability of greater visibility into satellite viewing will change the way broadcasters evaluate and optimize the distribution method.
