Former IBM and Qlik Exec Joins Qualtrics as CTO
Experience management firm Qualtrics has appointed Mike Potter as CTO, leading platform architecture and engineering.
Qualtrics provides solutions for clients to continually assess and improve the four 'core experiences': Customer, Employee, Product and Brand. The firm was acquired by investors in 2023, for around $12.5bn, from its previous owner SAP, and taken private. A year ago it announced the acquisition of research and experience measurement software firm Press Ganey Forsta, for $6.75 billion.
Potter (pictured) brings more than 25 years of software experience, beginning with nine in Product Development roles at Cognos, and then moving to its parent company IBM. Here he spent another four years, latterly as Director of Development Business Intelligence and Cognos Platform. In 2014 he moved to data products firm Qlik as SVP of Global R&D, and in January 2018 was promoted to CTO., a role he held for more than seven years, as the company scaled engineering through rapid growth and platform transformation. For the past year he has served as CPTO at healthcare software provider Petal, leading product, engineering, IT, data and security.
In his new role, he will focus on core infrastructure, technical velocity and system reliability as Qualtrics scales its XM Data & AI platform. The firm is set to launch a new system called XM Data & AI early in 2027. This new platform, announced a month ago, will combine behavioral intelligence for customers, patients and employees, from two decades of Qualtrics work, with forty years of healthcare experience data from recently acquired Press Ganey.
