Huge Raise for LatAm Retail Analyst Scanntech
Montevideo, Uruguay-based Scanntech has raised $180m in Series F financing, with which to broaden its product suite, invest in analytics and AI capabilities, and expand across sectors and to new markets in Latin America. The firm provides a retail intelligence, analytics and marketing services platform.
Scanntech was founded in 1992, is led by CEO Raúl Polakof, and uses ticket-level transaction data from point-of-sale systems across Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Peru and Uruguay, to provide market intelligence to retailers, distributors and consumer goods companies. The company works with more than 600 manufacturers, as well as distributors and retailers.
Polakof comments: 'Scanntech has grown by giving retailers and consumer goods companies the clarity to act faster, more efficiently, and with greater confidence. We have built the most granular view of retail in Latin America, and we are only getting started. This round brings together investors with complementary strengths and a shared conviction in our model, alongside long-standing shareholders who have supported us for years. Benny Szylkowski, Soledad Fernandez, and I, together with the entire Scanntech team, will use this capital to accelerate our expansion into new markets, deepen our AI-powered solutions, and bring these benefits to many more retailers and brands across the region.'
The round was led by L Catterton and Partners Group with participation from Bradesco, SPX, and existing shareholders including Warburg Pincus, Hindiana, IFC, and Endeavor.
