nuaxia Launches New Health Professional Database
nuaxia has unveiled a global database of more than 6.4 million contactable healthcare professionals, with each record profiled with core professional information including country of practice and specialty. Detailed clinical specialisms are also included where possible.
nuaxia was founded in 2016 by former Synovate UK CEO Peter Chopra (pictured), and provides a professional network for healthcare experts, promising them 'short, focused activities designed to keep them informed, reinforce learning and respect their professional time.'
The database, which includes 2.2m HCPs in Europe and another 2.2m in the USA & Canada, is built from professional profiles from 'independent and authoritative' sources, rather than relying heavily on self-declared information, as the company says other solutions are. nuaxia says the new offering aims to improve the experience of healthcare professionals participating in research, showing them more respect by doing more of the work before they are contacted, 'rather than repeatedly asking them to prove who they are and what they do.'
'Knowing somebody is a genuine doctor is not enough,' states CEO Chopra. 'You also need good evidence that they are the right doctor for the question you are asking.' Chopra says the consequences of relying on self-reported information 'can be significant.' He explains: 'Independent testing by NewtonX has shown differences of 20-30% between results from verified and unverified professional samples, while the wider research industry continues to report substantial levels of fraudulent and poor-quality participation.
The database also links HCPs to around 2.1 million healthcare organisations globally, and provides a data foundation for nuaxia's wider healthcare intelligence capabilities.
