Potloc Approaching End-to-End Agentic Quant
Canadian survey platform Potloc says it has now built agents and established workflows for more than 85% of the stages in quant studies, and will complete the process by 'early 2027', with the exception of a few areas which will remain 'human by design'.
Potloc's platform, built on ten years of execution data from thousands of studies, is used to support corporate strategy, due diligence, pre-due diligence, portfolio monitoring and thought leadership by its global finance and consulting clients. The firm, which has hubs in New York, Paris, London and Montreal, partnered two months ago with Cint, to develop and test an MCP capability.
The completed agentic elements provide instant project scoping, with more precise feasibility estimates and less time and budget spent on revisions; questionnaire scripting 'in as little as an hour'; automatic quality checks and validation run, which means fieldwork can kick off sooner; and provision of detailed reports in minutes instead of hours, complete with charts and detailed explanations.
CEO Rodolphe Barrere (pictured) says AI models 'have already extracted the world's public knowledge,' and believes the 'next frontier is private knowledge, which lives in people's heads: real-life experiences, brand perceptions, shifting opinions, buying intent.' He continues: 'Accessing private knowledge has always been limited by the labor required to conduct research. However, by making every step of quantitative research agentic, Potloc is facilitating access to this knowledge. The research industry is going through a generational change from tech-based to agentic-led, but it will need a reliable infrastructure to run on. Potloc is that infrastructure.'
