Expansion and New Team for MR Journal

The UK's Market Research Society (MRS) has appointed Peter Mouncey as Editor-in-Chief of its International Journal of Market Research, and increased its frequency of publication from quarterly to six times a year.

Currently an independent consultant as well as visiting fellow at Cranfield School of Management, Mouncey is a former MRS Chairman and Head of Group Marketing Strategy at the Automobile Association. He succeeds James Rothman and Stephan Buck who retired as joint editors towards the end of 2004.

A new editorial team includes:
  • Sheila Byfield Head of Consumer Insight, Mindshare Worldwide
  • Martin Callingham Visiting Professor, Birkbeck College
  • Andy Dexter CEO, Incepta Marketing Intelligence
  • Paul Feldwick Worldwide Brand Planning Director, DDB
  • Wendy Gordon Partner, Acacia Avenue
  • Corrine Moy Global Director of Marketing Sciences, NOP World
  • Ben Page Head of Social Research Institute, MORI, and
  • Adam Phillips Consultant and MD, Real Research.
The Journal will also be available via a newly established web site at www.IJMR.com

The publication, which addresses methodological and professional issues and is definitely not at the 'light reading' end of the MR spectrum, is published for the MRS by the World Advertising Research Center (WARC).

Mouncey says the previous editors will be 'a hard act to follow' but that the team are 'committed to publishing stimulating, practical articles that help make market research a more effective tool'. The MRS is online at www.mrs.org.uk
