Enhancements for Blog Monitor

Adding to the recent brand measurement bonanza, online 'buzz' specialist Intelliseek Inc. has upgraded its BrandPulse(tm) solution to more effectively measure and assess clients' coverage on blogs, message boards and newsgroups.

The new features are particularly targeted at helping clients measure the impact of so-called 'consumer generated media' (CGM), described by Intelliseek's Chief Marketing Officer Pete Blackshaw as 'the fastest growing media'. 'The ability to monitor, respond to and even influence CGM may represent one of the most important sources of competitive advantage for marketers in the future' says Blackshaw. 'BrandPulse takes text-mining and text analytic technologies to the next level to help brands become world-class listeners'.

CGM includes public Internet communities, fora and blogs, and according to recent research involving Forrester, is more likely to be trusted by consumers than traditional advertising.

Upgrades to the ASP-based BrandPulse include:
  • new content sources with nearly 12 million blogs, more than 45,000 newsgroups and thousands of online message boards - more than 1 million consumer postings are indexed and analyzed each day
  • new text-mining capability, using improved natural language processing approaches to detect sentiment on very specific issues, filter positive or negative comments and extract product-related ideas and suggestions
  • enhanced metrics and analysis, including brand sentiment analysis and 'influence tracking', and segmentation of online authors, and
  • an upgraded reporting dashboard for clients.
