Nielsen Media Strengthens Legal Team
Angela Mariana Freyre has joined Nielsen Media Research as Senior Vice President, Deputy General Counsel for Legal and Strategic Affairs. Freyre, who worked as Nielsen's counsel for seven years whilst at Coudert Brothers in New York, will oversee contracts, support political affairs, and expand relations with clients.
Havana-born Freyre joined Coudert Brothers in 1995, specialising in corporate finance and becoming a Partner. She was also responsible for co-ordinating Coudert Brothers' Latin American practice, and served on the legal team that privatised the telecommunications concern in Guatemala.
Prior to Coudert, she worked at Mudge Rose Guthrie Alexander & Ferdon in Paris and New York for 14 years, specialising in securities, finance and banking law. During this time, she lectured at the Universite de Droit, d'Economie et des Sciences Sociales in Paris, where she established an American Common Law Program and authored a textbook.
Freyre will report to David Schwartz-Leeper, Senior VP and General Counsel, and to Dave Thomas, Senior VP, Strategy and Business Development.
