Mystery Joggers for Fitness Chain

Cannons Health and Fitness has appointed UK-based agency Grass Roots to undertake a 'mystery journey' programme to measure service standards in its network of 52 gyms.

The mystery journeys will be split across different areas of each club, and will assess a range of aspects from hygiene and standards of facilities to communication and service provided by staff.

Sian Doyle, Cannons' Director of Member and People Services, is heading up the project. She explains that members' surveys have identified key areas of importance, which the mystery journeys will now help to measure.

Director of Measurement at Grass Roots, Nigel Cover, says the company is pleased to be venturing into the health and fitness market with the service measurement skills more commonly applied in the retail sector. He states: 'The nation's health is one of the big issues of our time, but getting more people active depends on the quality of the experience available.'

The Grass Roots Group, founded in 1980, is a mystery shopping specialist with offices in Dublin, Cologne, Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, and Rome and partners in USA, Latin America, South Africa and Asia Pacific. The company is online at www.grg.com .
