Survey Sampling Appoints CFO

US solutions company Survey Sampling International (SSI) has appointed Tom Brophy to the newly created role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The company, which bought Bloomerce Access Panels Europe earlier this year, says Brophy will be heavily involved in evaluating possible future acquisitions.

Brophy has worked with start-up and growth companies for more than ten years, gaining experience of growing, acquiring, and selling companies. Most recently, he was CFO of Interactive Search Holdings, an online search and media company that was sold to Ask Jeeves for $500 million in 2004. Prior to ISH, Brophy was VP of Finance and CFO of Promotions.com, a public online promotion services company, later acquired by iVillage. Brophy completed an Initial Public Offering, raising $50 million. Before that, he was CFO of Health Partners, and he has also worked as an audit manager for Deloitte & Touche.

In his new role, he will manage the financial aspects of SSI's US and European businesses. Bev Weiman, the company's President and CEO, says: 'The amount and complexity of our financial reporting requirements has greatly increased with recent company transactions, along with our acquisition of Bloomerce. Tom will be heavily involved in the evaluation of possible acquisitions to further solidify our position as the worldwide leader in survey research solutions.'

SSI provides access to a community of nearly nine million household members, representing more than 3.7 million unique email addresses worldwide. The company is online at www.surveysampling.com
