MRS Conference Taking Shape

The UK's Market Research Society (MRS) has announced keynote speakers and two new features for its March 2006 annual Conference. Entrepreneur Richard Reed, founder of Innocent Drinks, and UCL Professor of Psychology Adrian Furnham will present two contrasting views of research.

Research 2006 Connections is being held at the Barbican, London, from 22-24 March 2006. As the 49th MRS Annual Conference, it promises delegates 'an informed and lively approach to maximising the value of research whilst focussing on strengthening the links between industry stakeholders'.

Two keynote speakers are in place: Reed will talk about how he created a £15m company in just five years, 'using no more than a creative idea and an irreverent research technique', while Professor Furnham, a noted corporate research expert, will share his thoughts on 'fun at work and life without a mobile phone'.

This year sees two new features, expert briefings and training workshops - these cover topics including 'knowing your blogs from your pods - everything you need to know about new media' and 'using police interviewing techniques in research'. A session on day one addresses the hot topic of 'Word of Mouth'.

Described by Sophie Russell-Ross, Conference Manager, as offering delegates 'access to some of the finest minds in the industry', the Conference offers Early Bird Discounts for bookings before 6 January 2006. More details from www.mrs.org.uk.
