NPD Promotes Directors

US agency the NPD Group has promoted four of its Directors - Stephen Baker, Steve Flavin, Bruce Schnur and Martin Zagorsek - to Vice President positions. Between them, they take responsibility for technology tracking; automotive and convenience retailing sales; corporate products; and games and software.

In his new role as VP of Industry Analysis for the group's Technology Tracking division, Baker is the company's primary hardware analyst. He has been commenting on the technology industry for more than 10 years and has been ranked as a leading industry analyst by Adweek's Technology Marketing.

He joined NPD in 2001 when it acquired PC Data, where he had worked as a hardware analyst and director of the hardware point-of-sale business. He began his career at Staples, where he was involved in opening the first office superstore in the US.

Flavin, VP of automotive and convenience retailing sales efforts for North America, was formerly Director of Business Development for the company's Automotive division. His primary role is to expand the reach of the company's information services in the automotive aftermarket manufacturing community.

He also joined NPD in 2001, having worked in sales, marketing and category management positions, most recently with the Clorox Company.

Schnur is now VP of the Corporate Products Group, and is responsible for the suite of tools used to deliver NPD data to clients worldwide. He will also manage the scheduling of all of the company's IT development initiatives.

He joined NPD in 2000 as Group Supervisor in the company's fashion division. In 2001, he became a Director in that group, then moved to the Corporate Products group in 2003 as Director of delivery tool product management. Prior to joining NPD, he worked for Victoria & Co, Cosmair, Avon and General Mills.

Zagorsek is now VP for Games and Software. In this role, he is responsible for client relationships plus syndicated and custom research products in the sector. He was previously Director of Product Development for the group's video games, toys, music and movies businesses. Before joining NPD, he spent several years at Sapient Corporation and two years at Deutsche Bank.
