Greenfield / Ciao Adds New Panels

Greenfield Online, through its subsidiary Ciao, has launched new online panels in Europe, Latin America and Australia, offering access to 200,000 new panellists. The launch follows news last month that Greenfield Online was cutting 39 jobs in a bid to save $7m a year after disappointing financial results.

In Europe, the company has recruited 85,000 new panellists in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Portugal. It has also launched a Latin American panel, with more than 50,000 respondents in Mexico and Brazil, and introduced an Australian panel with more than 70,000 respondents.

Speaking of the new panels, President and CEO Albert Angrisani says the company's goal is to 'deliver the best possible data collection services. As we have promised, one of the ways that we will deliver on that goal is to continue to invest in expanding our proprietary panels globally.'

Nicolas Metzke, Senior VP of Survey Completion, explains that recruitment in the new markets has achieved 'the critical mass of respondents necessary to conduct valid studies, while ensuring that the environment is as localized and as inviting as possible to continue to attract new panelists.'

Greenfield hit trouble last September, reducing its revenue forecast for the third quarter of 2005 by $4m due to lower than expected win rates in North America. Angrisani, a successful turnaround manager, was appointed to replace Dean Wiltse and promised to 'reinvigorate' the company.

The company, which now has proprietary panels in 23 countries, is online at www.Greenfield.com and www.ciao-group.com.
