Incepta Rebrands as Illuminas

Incepta Marketing Intelligence, the MR group which includes Citigate DVL Smith and Hauck Research, has been rebranded as Illuminas. The company was bought by Media Square Group from Huntsworth Plc last November.

The change of name is not unexpected - in its interim results on 25th Jan this year, Media Square said that 're-branding of all the businesses bearing the old Citigate or Incepta names is well underway'. Media Square bought Incepta MI from Huntsworth plc, as part of the Marketing Services Group, for which the net purchase price was c.£55 million. The Incepta web site has been diverting to an Illuminas holding page for some time.

Illuminas will announce the launch simultaneously across its offices in Europe, USA and Asia. Launch activity starts today at the first day of the MRS Conference in London and is followed by a client seminar in Hong Kong on 31st March. Similar events will be taking place across the three offices in the USA.

Incepta was formed in 2003 and has more than doubled in size over the last 5 years - it now has revenues of around £20 million and 150 people worldwide. It is headquartered in London and has offices in New York, Austin TX, San Francisco, Hong Kong, and Shanghai.

As of today a new global web site is online, with a structure reflecting Illuminas' declared strategy of offering global research consultancy built around key areas of expertise and sector knowledge. The site is at www.illuminas-global.com
