B2B Panels Evening and Conference

BIG, the UK's association for b2b research professionals, is gearing up for 4 weeks of activity with its AGM, a comprehensive review of b2b panel providers, and the annual Conference all scheduled.

The 2006 BIG Conference takes place on May 17th - 19th in Chepstow, once again at the St. Pierre hotel and conference centre. As usual it promises the 'unusual mix of the highly thought provoking, serious aspect of Business to Business market research aligned with a lighter element, the serious business of having fun with colleagues.' Around a hundred researchers will attend in the breathtaking setting of the medieval manor house hotel surrounded by rolling green parkland.

Keynote speakers are Ian Talmage of Bayer Healthcare on 'The building of a global brand', on Thursday morning and Phyllis MacFarlane, MD of GfK NOP rounding off on Friday afternoon with a look at 'B2B research - how we got to where we are and where we might be going.' In between, sessions will cover the International Scene, Internal Relationships, Connecting with New and Different Businesses, New Ways of Working, Creative Output, and Evolution. Workshops cover 'Exploring your client base potential', 'New Desk Research' and 'Risk Management'. In addition, there will as ever be tennis and golf tournaments, and the Conference Dinner - plus on this occasion a Race Night run by a specialist company and including big screens, mikes, rosettes, thrilling photo finishes, and the option of betting for those so inclined.

A brief AGM on 25th April, at ORC's offices in Islington, will be followed at 6.30pm by a comprehensive review of UK b2b panel offerings. Comprehensive in that all six providers of panels of business respondents will be present, and will take the floor for a brief summary of their offerings, with handouts giving more detail - the format of ten minutes each means individual talks are hardly likely to cover everything, but they should provide a unique overview of this fast-developing field. Speakers represent Ciao!, GMI, idFactor, Research Now, SSI and ToLuna. Forum meetings are open to non-members at a cost of only £5.00 to cover snacks and drinks.

More details on the Conference can be found at www.bigconference.org or obtained by emailing Pene Healey at info@bigconference.org . Forum / B2B panels information is available from Nick Thomas, on forum@b2bresearch.org .
