GMI Links with Neopets for Youth Panel

MR panels and software company GMI has added a youth panel to its range of offerings. In partnership with several companies including kids' web giant Neopets.com, the panel promises 'one of the most highly profiled sources of youth sample on the web'.

Neopets has more than 25 million members, many of them devoted to its feature-rich magical world of Neopia (it claims that 'typical' user sessions can 'exceed 6 hours'). As a highly-targeted incentive, GMI's youth panellists will earn points redeemable at Neopets when they respond to surveys. They can also play games on the panel site itself, which in addition offers loyalty programs and newsletters to keep them engaged. GMI says participation in weekly polls will allow panellists to share their ideas with each other and will maintain a sense of community.

Parental consent for the panel will be handled through Neopets membership, leaving GMI to obtain answers 'direct from kids to optimize research validity'. Children under the age of thirteen must provide written parental consent to join, and all panellists are double opted-in. From a security viewpoint, GMI is strictly compliant with both the recently renewed Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA - see DRNO) and the Children's Advertising Review Unit (CARU). More information about the panel is at www.TaketheTruth.com .

GMI will officially launch its Netherlands office, in the town of Hertogenbosch, with a special customer event to be held in May.

The company is online at www.gmi-mr.com .
