More Diarists for Arbitron

Arbitron has announced an increase in the sample size for its RADAR network radio ratings service from 100,000 to 125,000 diarykeepers. Linked to this, the firm's Market by Market Reporting tool will expand its coverage from the top 25 to the top 50 DMAs by September.

RADAR sample size has grown consistently, from just 12,006 respondents in RADAR 72 in 2002. This month, for RADAR 89, more than 6,000 diaries were added to the sample, bringing the total to 106,299 diaries. By the release of RADAR 92 in March 2007, the annual total will reach 125,000 diarykeepers.

'Arbitron again is able to enhance the reliability of our RADAR network radio ratings service through a significant increase in sample size,' comments Bruce Supovitz, VP National Radio Services. 'Our subscribers will benefit from the greater stability for the key demographic estimates used by the network radio industry to buy and sell a billion dollars of national advertising.'

RADAR (Radio's All Dimension Audience Research) is a national radio ratings service that measures national radio usage as well as audiences to radio commercials aired on 56 radio networks. Arbitron is on the web at www.arbitron.com .
