FDS Joins International Network

FDS has joined the International Research InstituteS (IriS), a worldwide network of independent research suppliers, as its UK member, replacing MORI. IriS members have a turnover of €200 million and are in more than 30 countries worldwide.

The network requires strict quality standards of members and consists of agencies with well-established reputations. It recently appointed Munich-based Vocatus as its German member.

The announcement comes only three weeks after FDS and sister company acefieldwork were sold to Munro Global Limited, a new company combining venture capitalist Electra Kingsway and a management buy-in team (www.mrweb.com/drno/news5629.htm ).

FDS was established by Janet Weitz in 1972. Group turnover was £6 million in 2005, and the Group employs more than 120 staff in offices in London and Newcastle.

IriS President Jhr. Allert R. de Lange comments: 'The UK is a very important market and in FDS International we have selected a partner that provides excellent market research services and can work closely with other IriS members around the globe.'

Charlotte Cornish, the new MD of FDS International and Munro Global, says the company is 'delighted' with its selection. 'For current and prospective FDS clients, the capability to deliver international solutions and local expertise globally through the IriS network further enhances the capabilities of FDS as a leading full-service provider of research services.'

FDS is online at www.fds.co.uk and IriS at www.irisnetwork.org .
