New Online Forum in Australia

Simon Howell, director of Australian market research agency The Acid Test, has recently set up the Australian Market Research Forum where researchers can discuss industry specific issues online.

The aim is to provide an open environment where researchers can exchange tips, find guidance on market research questions, keep abreast of developments and look at job openings. Areas on the forum include industry events, recruitment, incentives and a general issues area.

According to Howell, the forum is intended to complement information sources already available, including the Australian Market and Social Research Society. "It is recognised that international market research forums do exist - as they do for marketing and advertising - but their coverage of the unique issues faced in Australia is not their primary function and hence responses to issues raised may not be relevant to Australia and in the worst case may be misleading."
