Kantar Merges Japanese Firms

Kantar has announced the merging of its Japanese businesses into a single unit. The Japanese offices of Research International, Millward Brown, ICM/Added Value and Lightspeed Research will henceforth function as Japan Kantar Research (JKR). Kantar says it has no plans to replicate this approach elsewhere in the world.

The group says the new business will be one of Japan's largest market research and insights companies, offering 'a complete and unique portfolio of solutions'. It adds that the merger is intended to improve client focus and offer employees a more attractive career path.

According to the group, the decision was taken with 'the specific and unique Japanese market' in mind, and Kantar has no plans to replicate this approach beyond Japan.
