Former IDC Man to Head Up Specialist Computing Firm

Former IDC analyst Addison Snell is to lead Tabor Research, the recently formed MR and consulting practice of Tabor Communications, Inc., strategic solutions provider to the High Productivity Computing industry (HPC).

As Vice President and General Manager of Tabor Research, Snell will report to Debra Goldfarb, CEO of Tabor Communications. A graduate of the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, Snell has 10 years of HPC industry experience and joins from a technical computing systems analyst role at IDC. He was previously a spokesperson for SGI's supercomputing products and strategy.

'Addison clearly understands the gap that currently exists in HPC market intelligence' enthuses Goldfarb, 'and under his leadership we will ensure our research products deliver actionable market intelligence based on a complete view of forward-looking trends.'

Snell says he aims to exploit synergies with sister companies Tabor Publications and Events and Tabor Marketing Services. He has ambitious plans to 'change the way market research is done' involve moving away from 'surveying the vendors about what they've sold', with users as passive recipients to giving trendsetting users 'a voice that will reach throughout the vendor community... and set the direction of product development'.

Tabor Research will offer an integrated market intelligence subscription service fusing supplier and user data and called InterSect360™. The company is online at www.taborresearch.com .
