Ipsos MD Crosses the Pond
Ipsos UK's MD of Public Affairs, Sam McGuire, has taken on a new challenge as he joins the firm's North American Public Affairs management team in New York, as Senior Vice President.
McGuire has a market research background spanning 15 years, which includes an eight-year spell at ORC International. He joined Ipsos UK back in 2002 as Director of the firm's Public Affairs research unit, where he was responsible for its growth and direction, while leading its marketing and business development initiatives.
Commenting on his relocation, McGuire said: 'Ipsos US Public Affairs has some great Fortune 100 multinationals as clients, great staff and resources, and there is huge potential to expand what the strong team is already doing. I'm here to support existing global corporate reputation work, but also general public opinion and social research so that we can make great strides going forward.'
Outlining the reason behind the transfer, Darrell Bricker, Global Co-President of Ipsos Public Affairs explained: 'We wanted Sam to come to the US as we believe his experience and expertise will be a real asset to us and bring another valuable dimension to our team. Public Affairs is a strong driver of awareness and business development for Ipsos, and we know Sam will continue this tradition in the US.'
