Step Up For Nielsen Communications Guru

Public relations veteran, Cheryl Pearson-McNeil has been promoted to the position of Senior VP, Communications, ACNielsen, from her previous role of VP, Communications & Community Affairs, Nielsen Media Research.

Before joining Nielsen in June 2004, Pearson-McNeil was Director of Station Relations for WMAQ, the NBC television station in Chicago. She was also the former press secretary for Chicago City Treasurer, Miriam Santos. She has a background spanning more than 20 years public relations, community affairs and communications experience in television, advertising, politics and the non-profit sector.

She has served on the boards of several associations including, the Cosmopolitan Chamber of Commerce, Chicago Foundation for Women and the Black Public Relations Society - Chicago. She has an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management and a BA in Public Relations from Purdue University.

Initially Pearson-McNeil acted as primary media and community representative for Nielsen Media in Illinois, as well as managing and coordinating overall media, public relations and brand building for the Chicago area. As a member of the senior management team, Pearson-McNeil will now lead all ACNielsen's external and internal communications activities, and coordinate communications across ACNielsen and The Nielsen Company's Advisory Services businesses in the US.
