Google Continues To Build Search Share
            
Last month's comScore search engine rankings show Google Sites capturing 48.1% of the US search market; up 0.6% from the previous month. The firm gained just 0.2% from December to January.
  Yahoo! Sites maintained second place with 28.1% of US searches, followed by Microsoft Sites (10.5% – down from 10.6% in January), Ask Network (5%) and Time Warner Network – which includes AOL (decreasing 0.1% to 4.9%).
 According to comScore data, Google has experienced high growth in its share of the US search market during the past two years. In January 2005, Google had 35.1% of the business, compared with 31.8% for Yahoo!  Within a year, Google had increased its share to 41.4%.
  
 comScore stats show that Google users conducted 3.3 billion of the 6.9 billion web searches performed by US consumers in February, followed by Yahoo! with 2 billion and Microsoft with 730 million.
