Lightspeed Invests in Foresight

WPP-owned online panel provider Lightspeed Research has acquired global employee research firm, Foresight International, for an undisclosed sum.

Headquartered outside Chicago, Foresight specialises in conducting employee satisfaction and engagement studies, which it delivers through web-based ASP (Active Server Pages) technology. The firm also offers external benchmarking comparison through its World Benchmarking Consortium, which provides normative survey data from a database containing the opinions of more than 2 million employees working in 120 countries.

Lightspeed Research President and CEO, Anne Hedde, says that the acquisition will enable the company to expand its current market research capabilities by linking employee satisfaction and engagement with other corporate KPI's, including customer satisfaction. Hedde commented: 'The Foresight team has developed industry leading technology-driven employee satisfaction products and services that will expand our core offer by giving us the opportunity to deliver great insight to the existing interactive solutions we already successfully offer for clients.'

Foresight President, Michael Schroeder believes that his firm's combination of survey research, technology and consulting will complement Lightspeed Research's existing MR capabilities.

In the year to 31 December 2006, Foresight International generated sales of $7.2m and had gross assets of $5.9m at the same date. Foresight International and Lightspeed Research are online at www.surveysupport.com and www.lightspeedresearch.com .
