Seven More Years for OzTAM and AGB Nielsen

AGB Nielsen Media's contract with Australia's TV ratings data supplier OzTAM has been extended for a further seven years from January 2008.

Nielsen supplies television audience measurement (TAM) services to OzTAM, covering all channels for the five Australian city metropolitan areas and nationally for subscription television. This data is used by organisations such as TV networks, advertisers, advertising agencies, media buyers and programme suppliers to assist them in assessing programme and network performance and to understand viewer behaviour.

Kate Inglis-Clark, CEO, OzTAM, commented: 'This is an important time for TAM services in Australia, where there is a challenge to meet the demands of measuring 3000+ homes while maintaining a world-class, quality and innovation-driven service.

Toni Petra, CEO AGB Nielsen Media Research Australia, describes the reappointment as 'a great endorsement', and adds: 'Our team is committed to meeting the continuing needs of OzTAM and its clients, and to providing the highest levels of technological development and service.'

The contract was initially awarded to Nielsen in 2000 and its ATR Australia TV ratings panel began supplying data in January 2001. The firms are on the web at www.agbnielsen.net and www.oztam.com.au .
