ICT Group Call Centre to Close

CRM outsourcing group, ICT, has announced that it will be closing its Woodstock call centre on 15 July, in response to 'changing business conditions'.

Director of Marketing communications, Jackie Amendolari, said that after evaluating its operations the firm had decided to close its Woodstock facility, while HR Manager, Nick Duley, explained that the company would be consolidating work in some of its other contact centres and thanked staff for their service. The move comes in the wake of news that Kantar will be closing its Illinois-based MR call center in June, and GfK NOP's closure of its Alamogordo, New Mexico call centre earlier this week (www.mrweb.com/drno/news6777.htm ).

ICT is working with the Canadian Government's unemployment agency to provide outplacement services for all c.160 affected employees.

The ICT Group opened its Woodstock location in 2003 and expanded its operation by hiring 60 additional market research employees in 2004. By 2006, the ICT Group had 40 contact centres in 12 US states and 10 other countries, contributing to the company's $447.9 million annual revenue. The firm is online at www.ictgroup.com .
