i-to-i Leaves Publicis Fold in Management Buy-Out
i-to-i Research, which became part of the Publicis Group in July 2006, has been acquired by its Chief Executive Claire Spencer in a management buy-out.
The firm was acquired by Publicis in an attempt to boost marketing and research services at the advertising company's operations and tap into its range of proprietary research tools, including its i-to-i tracker brand communications measurement tool.
However, since the departure of Chairman Tim Lindsay in May and the recent return of Chief Strategy Officer Paul Edwards to Research International (www.mrweb.com/drno/news6977.htm ), Publicis has slimmed down its management structure and dropped its strategy of placing communication measurement outside the agency.
After a 20 year background working in the communications industry, in 2002 Spencer established i-to-i Research to offer measurement services to the PR industry. Her team of five researchers is now based in offices in Mortlake, South London. Home page: www.itoiresearch.com.
Last month, former i-to-i Research Director Martin Oxley left to join web-based US consumer agency BuzzBack as MD of its new European operation (www.mrweb.com/drno/news7291.htm ).
