CBS Radio Appoints Senior VP Research
In the US, CBS Radio has named Lucy Hughes Senior Vice President Research, with a remit to examine current trends and develop new concepts and strategies for positioning the company's brand.
She joins from CBS Television Station Group where since 2004 she had worked as VP/Director Corporate Media Strategies, and for the past year she has served as Director Local Station Research for KCBS and KCAL.
Prior to this, Hughes held senior research positions with AdLink, Initiative Media, Team Disney, ABC/Capital Cities, Los Angeles Magazine, Standard Broadcasting, and the Radio Advertising Bureau. She began her career as an Account Executive for BBM Bureau of Measurement and gained her Master's degree in Advertising from the University of Illinois at Champaign.
In her new Los Angeles-based role, Hughes will also provide guidance to the division's sales force on consumer media habits and on how on-air, online or mobile campaigns can be tailored to match those habits and meet the needs of advertisers.
She will report to Michael Weiss, CBS Radio's newly appointed President of Sales who commented: 'As the industry moves further into the digital space and advertisers continue to demand more accountability as to how they are spending their ad dollars, it's imperative we have someone of Lucy's caliber to interpret and evaluate our capabilities, position the power of radio in the overall media landscape, and create a unique and progressive set of tools to help us compete and gain an increased share of the business.'
