In the US, Pharma and biotech research specialist The Mattson Jack Group, has released its Comorbidity Database to help clients make decisions based on an in-depth understanding of any combination of medical disorders or diagnostic categories.

The system comprises two modules:
  • Central Nervous System (CNS) 2.0 which focuses on mental health disorders, with data drawn from a national survey of approximately 10,000 people 18 years and older
  • Med 2.0 which features a broad range of medical diagnoses allows users to determine the patient population numbers for combinations of a number of diseases or risk factors, with data gathered from a large population-based study that is designed to assess the health and nutritional status of adults and children
'Pharmaceutical companies can use this information to build accurate market forecasts, identify patient subgroups by various risk factors, and analyse overlaps of subgroup populations,' explained Director of Epidemiology David Robinson.

The separate, but complementary Comorbidity Database modules are available online and offered by annual subscription.
