D&B Makes Senior Promotions

Commercial information and risk management giant D&B has announced senior changes, with President and COO Sara Mathew elected to the Board of Directors and promotions and additional responsibilities for Jim Burke, Charlie Gottdiener and Byron Vielehr.

The Company also announced that Jim Howland, currently President - D&B International has made 'a personal decision to leave D&B in 2008 after a period of transition'.

Mathew joined D&B in August 2001 as CFO and a member of the Company's Global Leadership team. To these she added the roles of President - International in January 2006 and President - U.S. in September 2006. In February this year she was promoted to President and COO, relinquishing the CFO role. Prior to joining D&B, she spent eighteen years at Procter & Gamble in a number of US and overseas positions in finance and general management.

Chairman and CEO Steve Alesio says Mathew has been 'a partner in driving the transformation of D&B over the past 6 years' and adds: 'With these appointments, Sara will partner more closely with me to advance our strategic plans.'

Burke is promoted to President - U.S. Customer Segments, from CMO and Leader - Global Solutions where he led the creation of the company's subscription pricing plan and the development and launch of DNBi, the Company's web-based subscription service and flagship platform. He joined the firm in December 2001, following senior marketing roles at Prudential's E-Business Group and First USA Bank.

Gottdiener is promoted to President - Global Solutions, from a previous role as Senior VP, Small Business Marketing, in which he led the fast-growing Hoover's business and completed strategic acquisitions. He joined in September 2002 as Vice President - Strategy & Business Development, and worked previously at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, Ernst & Young, CSC Index and the Boston Consulting Group.

Burke and Gottdiener will assume joint responsibility for the Company's U.S. P&L.

Vielehr joined D&B in July 2005 as CIO, and will now add responsibility for leading the Company's data strategy and operations. His 17 years of previous strategic technology planning experience included senior leadership roles at NorthStar Systems International, Inc. and Merrill Lynch.

Says Alesio: 'We'll leverage Jim's strengths to continue the growth momentum in our U.S. Business, Charlie's proven expertise to develop our growth plans, and Byron's leadership to leverage our technology framework to underpin our data strategy.' All three men will report to Mathew.
