Fifth Dimension for SPSS

Research and predictive analytics software leader SPSS has debuted the latest version of its Dimensions software suite. Dimensions 5.0 promises to improve response rates, access to respondents, advanced survey creation and interactive results delivery.

Version 5.0 recognises the trend towards combining survey data with the unstructured data collected through text mining non-survey channels, including e-mail, call center notes and blogs. Jim Davies, Research Director at consultants Gartner, comments: 'Single-channel departmental surveys have limited value and are making way for more holistic Enterprise Feedback Management solutions... [delivering] attitudinal data from both unstructured and structured sources with transactional data about customer behavior.' The new release aims to provide this, giving what Bob Dutcher, VP, Product Marketing at SPSS describes as 'an accurate and complete understanding of preferences, motivations, and intentions.'

New features in version 5.0 include an enhanced Desktop Author for surveys via the Web, telephone, paper and mobile devices; a new Question Wizard which 'automatically generates and populates the questionnaire'; enhanced data collection, monitoring and storage via Remote Manager; the web-deployed interactive reporting tool Reporter; and integration with the enterprise-level predictive modeling platform SPSS Predictive Enterprise Services. It also integrates with Clementine, SPSS' data and text mining technology.

SPSS was founded in 1968 and is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. Its home page is at www.spss.com.
