MRK Joins Wilkerson Stable
Louisville, Kentucky-based market research firms Wilkerson & Associates (W&A) and Marketing Research of Kentuckiana (MRK) have recently merged.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Wilkerson's strength has been in quant research: MRK brings qual strength and clients as well as expertise in intercept interviewing.
The new company will operate as W&A and site its corporate headquarters in Taylorsville Road, Louisville, also maintaining MRK's office in Bardstown Road.
Steve Alsbury, President of employee-owned W&A, said the move was 'a continuation of a growth strategy that will poise W&A to reach a top 50 ranking of U.S. research firms'. W&A and MRK were founded in 1976 and 1986 respectively.
Jim Lunger, VP of Client Services for Wilkerson and one of the firm's principal shareholders along with Alsbury and Harold Busack, Chief Financial Officer, said Wilkerson has retained all of MRK's full-time employees, including its management, and the merged firm's offer will be unchanged in terms of its 'personable service and the strict adherence to research methodologies'.
