TNS Buys Sweden's Prospera

TNS has bought Stockholm-based financial services specialist Prospera Research, and says the buy will help it to further develop syndicated services for extension across the Nordic region and then elsewhere in Europe.

Agneta ElvesdtedtEstablished in 1985, Prospera provides syndicated services to investment banks, asset managers and law firms in Sweden. TNS CEO David Lowden explained: 'TNS already has a strong position in Sweden's finance sector. This acquisition makes TNS the market leader in research for commercial banks and insurance companies. It is also in line with the group's strategy to increase its proportion of syndicated services.'

Prospera Managing Director Agneta Elvesdtedt will continue in the role for what will now be known as TNS Prospera. The firm's gross assets as the end of 2007 were £0.48 million. TNS issued 560,022 shares at £0.05 each to help pay for the acquistion.

TNS already has more than 65 years' experience in the Swedish market information industry through its TNS Gallup operation in Gothenburg.

The operations MD Per Bostrom said of the acquisition: 'This highly specialised and successful business is run by a talented management team. The business has the reputation as the leading syndicated market information company in the Nordic financial markets and enjoys strong brand awareness among its customers and throughout the wider financial community.'
