Ipsos-Eureka Launches Social Research Institute

Ipsos Australia's public affairs division has joined with Eureka Strategic Research to found the Ipsos-Eureka Social Research Institute (IESRI); bringing together a team of 30 staff focused on issues affecting government and society.

John SergeantIpsos acquired public opinion and social research specialist Eureka last June (www.mrweb.com/drno/news7006.htm ). The IESRI will be modeled on Ipsos MORI in the UK, and headed by Eureka Co-Founder John Sergeant.

Ben Page, Chair of the UK's Ipsos-MORI Social Research Institute, will be speaking at the IESRI's official launch at a series of breakfast seminars taking place in Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne this Thursday, Friday and next Monday. Page, who joined MORI in 1987, was recently named one of the '100 most influential people in the public sector' by the Guardian newspaper.

The institute, which will offer research-based consulting services including customised data and strategic advice, is online at www.ipsos.com.au/IESRI.
