Yahoo! Buys Analytics Firm

Internet giant Yahoo! Inc. has agreed to acquire substantially all of the assets of Tensa Kft., more commonly known as IndexTools, which provides Web analytics software for online marketing.

Yahoo! says the buy, which includes IndexTools' Web analytics business and technology as well as its Tensa R&D Kft. Subsidiary, will help it deliver relevant insights and metrics for online campaigns that run across its entire network. The firm says the first to benefit will be more than 150,000 small-to-medium-sized businesses who use its online marketing options; and that aditional capabilities will follow in the next year, enabling third-party developers to monitor and optimize the traffic performance of their applications.

Bassel Ojjeh, Senior VP and head of Yahoo!'s Strategic Data Solutions group, comments: 'Yahoo! believes that the ability to generate the most valuable and relevant insights is essential to seizing market opportunities and creating successful campaigns' - and that the IndexTools technology will enhance customers' ability to quickly uncover and act on these insights.

Tensa MD Márton Szőke says his firm's large global customer base reflects its 'reliable, scalable and comprehensive platform for monitoring and analyzing sophisticated marketing campaigns.'

The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be completed before the end of June. Web site: www.indextools.com .
