Pike Returns To Nielsen From IAB

In Sydney Australia, Stuart Pike has returned to Nielsen as Director of Industry Solutions for Nielsen Online, from his previous position of Chairman of the Australian Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) sub-committee for online measurement.

During his IAB tenure, Pike led the team that identified panel measurement as the most appropriate solution for standard online audience measurement in Australia, which at the time Nielsen Online branded as 'a step backwards'.

Prior to working with the IAB, Pike held a number of executive-level positions in the online industry. These included working for Nielsen//NetRatings as Director of Product Planning and Marketing, Asia Pacific and Latin America; and as NetRatings's Business Manager (Media) for News Interactive - where he'd previously held management and development positions. Pike has a PhD in Organic Chemistry and a BSc from the University of Sydney, as well as an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM).

In his new role, he is responsible for developing the firm's analytical and consulting services for the Pacific Region.

Megan Clarken MD Pacific, Nielsen Online commented: 'Stuart is a seasoned industry expert and he is joining us at an exciting time for the evolving media sector. His knowledge of the online space and the needs of the market will be invaluable in providing important analytics services that support the ongoing growth of the industry.'

Pike said he is delighted to be back at Nielsen and added that he is looking forward to working with clients to implement solutions to help them best understand and improve the performance of their businesses.

Last October, Nielsen combined its Nielsen//NetRatings division with BuzzMetrics to form Nielsen Online.
