Launch for News Discussion and Voting Tool

In the US, Internet Broadcasting (IB), known for building media web sites, has launched an online opinion tool that creates forums where users can discuss subjects of interest, and vote on and search other users' arguments and comments.

Nicknamed 'Slantly', the platform offers customizable polls where users can vote and add comments. Voter demographics can be tracked through the Publisher Dashboard, where web publishers can also create, moderate and manage discussions, track activity and customize the look and functionality of the discussions to their site.

Key features include:
  • Custom Polls: allowing publishers to design surveys on issues of interest to their visitors.
  • Discussions: where users can add their comments to a forum on each poll that is visible.
  • Sorting: enabling users to sort comments by the strength of the arguments, or by time/date of posting.
  • Demographics: including the option to break down polls geographically and view sentiment by location.
Explained President and CEO David Lebow: 'Slantly gives web publishers the ability to take the news of the day and turn it into an opinion-driven forum that engages their visitors and keeps them coming back for more.'

Web publishers including Meredith Publishing and NYCtv have already signed on to use the tool. The former's Director of Interactive Media Tim Reynolds says that it provides a flexible and easy way to turn content into conversation: 'Slantly gives our users a platform for voicing their opinion, provides deeper and more meaningful interaction on our sites, keeps users there longer and gives them even more reason to come back.'

IB is online at www.ibsys.com .
